In Bangkok, prayer service of the new temple’s foundation.
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia construction has begun on a new St. Nicholas Cathedral in the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand. In this regard, the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin) concelebrated with clergy of the Orthodox parishes in Thailand - priest Daniel Wanna, priest Roman Bychkov and hierodeacon Mikhail (Csepel) the rite of founding a temple at the construction site. Also at the construction site were the holy relics of St. Nicholas, archbishop of Myra and the miraculous icon of the saint of God, in whose presence the prayers were offered.

Not only believers from Bangkok, but the Orthodox from other places in Thailand came to share the joy of the Bangkok parish. After the conclusion of the foundation rite for a temple, the akathist to St. Nicholas the Wonder-worker was served. For the achievement of bringing the relics of the saint of God to Thailand, Foundation Committee of the Orthodox Church in Thailand awarded Honorary Badge "for good causes" Nicholay Igorevich Goryachkin and Alexander Grigorievich Okhrimenko, those who labored to host the relics of St. Nicholas in Thailand.

The holy relics of St. Nicholas, archbishop of Myra visited Samui.
From December 17 to 18, the relics of St. Nicholas and his miraculous icon were on Samui. The relics and icon were accompanied by the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), priest Daniel Wanna, hierodeacon Michael (Csepel) and Mr. Alexander Okhrimenko. At the airport, Orthodox believers of Holy Ascension Church met the holy relics and the miraculous icon. In the walls of the church the prayers were offered both days and the faithful were able to venerate the saint of God St. Nicholas. The evening of December 18 the relics returned back to Bangkok.

Anointing with oil service will be performed in the church in Phuket.
The Anointing with oil is the sacrament during which The Grace of God is called upon a man by anointing the body with the sanctified oil. Often the sacrament is undertaken by the Orthodox believers who are physically or spiritually sick. This includes difficult spiritual conditions such as despondency, sorrow, despair, since the reason for them might be not confessed sins, including those which are not recognized by the person. The relics of St. Nicholas visit Bangkok.
In December 13-17, 2012 the relics of St. Nicholas, archbishop of Myra were present at St. Nicholas Chapel in Bangkok. During these days, several hundred people were able to venerate the holy relics. With the holy relics in Bangkok was the miraculous icon of St. Nicholas, kept at All Saints Church in Pattaya, which is the main shrine of the Orthodox Church in Thailand, famous for many miracles and healings.
December 17 and 18, the two holy objects will visit Samui, where construction is being completed on Holy Ascension Orthodox Church. The celebration of the feast day of St. Nicholas will be back in Bangkok.

A Cambodian national catechumen enrolled in courses at the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand.
With the blessing of archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Kingdom of Thailand, a Cambodian national Mr. Bunthorng Shu enrolled in catechism courses. Shu has already started classes. It is expected that upon completion of course he will continue training an Orthodox seminary in Russia.

Reference:
Mr. Bunthorng Shu was born in Cambodia in Koh Korng in 1991. At 10 years old he was baptized in the Protestant Church. After finishing secondary school, he worked, supporting his mother and relatives. Currently Shu is a catechumen being trained at the Representation of the Russian Orthodox in Thailand.

In Thailand an Indian citizen arrived for church liturgical practices.
At the request of His Eminence metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and the blessing of His Eminence archbishop Mark of Yegorievsk, Head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for Foreign Institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) in the Kingdom Thailand welcomed Polycarp (Rohan Rayprakash) Nehamaiyah to study liturgical practices for priestly ordination.
Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand ordered his assistant Paul Sidebottom directly to manage the theological training of Polycarp (Rohan), at Holy Dormition Monastery in Ratchaburi.

Priest Roman Bychkov begins his pastoral ministry in Thailand.
The new priest for Thailand Roman Bychkov arrived in Bangkok to carry out pastoral ministry. On Sunday, December 16, he celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Chapel in Bangkok. Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Kingdom of Thailand welcomed Fr. Roman to the congregation. Parishioners of St. Nicholas Chapel in Bangkok, previously knew fr. Roman as a catechist and Sunday School teacher. They received him with a warm welcome in his new position and wished him success in the service of the God’s Church.
It is expected that the new priest will officiate several services in Bangkok and Pattaya, and then will go to Holy Trinity Church in Phuket, where for a few months he will have priestly practice led by priest Alexei Golovin. Afterwards a permanent appointment to one of the parishes in Thailand will be considered.

Patriarchal blessing for the construction work on the new Orthodox temple in Bangkok.
In anticipation of the "laying the brick" event of the new Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas in Bangkok to be held on December 20 this year in the presence of the relics of the saint of God, the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand received the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for the upcoming construction. In particular, in the resolution to archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), His Holiness says:
"I bless the beginning of the construction of the church of St. Nicholas in Bangkok, Thailand, according to the submitted project. With the intercession of St. Nicholas, archbishop of Myra, may the Lord bless you, the clergy, laity and all laborers of the Russian Orthodox Church in Thailand in this important and good cause. Orthodox believers in Thailand with great enthusiasm and gratitude received the blessing of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church for the future construction of the temple in the capital of the Kingdom. It is expected that the temple will be built and consecrated in 2013.

Holy relics of St. Nicholas the Wonder-worker present at the Holy Dormition monastery in Ratchaburi.
From Phuket late on the night of 10 December, the holy relics of St. Nicholas came to Holy Dormition Monastery in Ratchaburi. The reliquary with the miraculous icon were placed in the center of the temple. After daily Divine Liturgy along with the regular cycle of monastic prayer services, a moleben were offered before the relics, honoring the saint, by the brethren and monastery clergy. After vespers the saint’s akathist was read and then a procession around the shrine of the monastery was made. Every day pilgrims came to venerate the holy relics in the monastery. Some of the pilgrims stayed during the days the reliquary was present in the monastery. The evening of December the reliquary went to Bangkok.
